Visiting doctors, specialists and payments

Golden Arrow Employees' Medical Benefit Fund has contracted certain specialists in a specialist network. Patients are encouraged to visit these providers, as they charge agreed rates. If a patient visits healthcare providers who are not part of the specialist network, they may be liable for co-payments.

The Fund covers seven general practitioner consultations per beneficiary in a year, which is subject to an overall annual limit.

All specialist visits must be authorised and requires referral by a general practitioner.

Claims must be submitted within four months of the date of service.

On the Standard and Advanced Options, hospital pre-authorisation must be obtained at least 48 hours before you go to the hospital.

In the case of an emergency, pre-authorisation is required within 24 hours of the admission, or on the next working day after you were admitted.
